TKM College of Engineering, Kollam · December 2025 ·70+ Students · IEDC Podcast Recorded
People ask us if engineering colleges are the right place for a period conversation.
After TKM - our answer is: it might be the best place.
The Collab
TKM's IEDC (Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Cell) brought LOUD in for two things: a live session and a recorded podcast. Engineers think in systems. And once you frame period health as a systems problem - plastic waste, chemical exposure, supply chain equity - the room gets it immediately.
What We Talked About
Conventional pads are 90% plastic. They take 800 years to decompose. 12 billion go to India's landfills every year. LOUD pads biodegrade in 6–12 months. That's not a lifestyle choice - that's an engineering problem with a better solution already built.
70+ students sat with that for an hour. The questions were sharp. The energy was real.
The Podcast
A recorded conversation about LOUD's founding story, the science behind organic biodegradable pads, and period poverty in India. Unlike a session, a podcast doesn't end when the room clears - it travels. Every listen is another conversation started.
The bigger point:
"A period conversation belongs in a lab, a lecture hall, and a boardroom just as much as it belongs anywhere else."
